Hi. This is Xinru.

I’m a Ph.D candidate in the Department of Computer Science, Purdue University, fortunate to be advised by Prof. Ming Yin. My research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and AI, with a focus on Explainable AI (XAI). The central question that shapes my research is “How to ensure AI explanations are truly beneficial for deployment to human users?”. I iterate on the evaluation and design of user-centered XAI systems for AI-assisted human decision making, in the context of fast evolving AI models and diverse user interfaces.

Prior to Ph.D, I received my B.S in Intelligence Science and B.S in Psychology (dual degree) from Peking University, China.

I'm on the job market! Please feel free to reach out with any relevant opportunities!
